The second largest in volume is Columbia, but perhaps the country most commonly associated with coffee growing. Columbia produces a light, sweet coffee made from Narino or Popayan that is superior to most. It comes in either excelso or supreme.
Beyond Brazil and Columbia, there is still a wide array of blends distinct to different parts of the globe all adding their own unique color to the coffee palate of choices.
Mexico, for instance, refuses to be beat by its neighbors South America or Central America. Its small coffee beans produce a light acidity giving the brew a slight mellow taste. Cuba, on the other hand, produces a strong cubano coffee that one drinks like a tequila shot.
Fine aged coffees can be found in Indonesia where the warmer climate produces a deep, less acid brew, while its nearby coffee producer Malaysia produces a fairly strong coffee due to its use of a muslin bag in the brewing process. The Liberica is, certainly, a brew that coffee drinkers should experience.
Thailand is known for its chicory-tinged brew served with condensed milk over a cup of ice for a chilled twist to the traditional cup of coffee.
The Kona is a medium-bodied, sweet brew found in Kona while a rich flavored Java can be found in Sumatra. The Beanya produced in Kenya it's a deep, smooth brew yet with a slight undescribable aftertaste.
The process of roasting beans, then crushing and filtering through hot water originated in the fifteen century and has produced many delightful tastes for the coffee lover.
